Who We Are
Bocas Academy was founded by parents who sought not only the best education for their children but also the freedom to travel and explore the world. These parents envisioned an educational model that would allow their children to thrive in new environments and have access to quality education no matter where they were in the world.
At Bocas Academy, we offer the flexibility to have a classroom social atmosphere, where students can study with a group of friends, plan trips, experience lab days, join lacrosse, and play beach volleyball, all while receiving the highest level of education. We believe that learning should be an enriching and enjoyable experience, and our unique approach combines academic excellence with a dynamic and engaging environment.
In addition to our core curriculum, we have affiliate partners in Spanish schools, offering students the opportunity to immerse themselves in the local culture and language. The island of Bocas del Toro is full of clubs, dive centers, and snorkeling opportunities, allowing students to experience the rich biodiversity of the region. Students also have the chance to collaborate with the Smithsonian Institute and explore the natural beauty of the island, providing a well-rounded and immersive educational experience.

Researchers and professionals who are contributing to the latest research in their fields of study are consulted for Mizzou Academy course development. Frequently, MU Faculty take part in the authorship and teaching of the courses.
